With this expansion, players can explore the lives of the artistes from Le Canard Noir, a family whose creative pursuits are plagued by calamity. The eccentric characters guide players through their misadventures, ultimately leading them to an inescapable end.
ADDITIONAL CARDS AND MECHANICS
This set introduces new Modifiers, Events, and Untimely Deaths to the base game. The 55 transparent cards integrate seamlessly with your existing deck, enriching your gaming experience.
THE BLACK DUCK CAFÉ
A vital locale within the expansion, the Black Duck café serves as a gathering place for a cast of washed-up bohemians. Here, the distressed painter Rosseau interacts with neurotic models and impoverished poets, echoing the themes of artistic struggle.
NEW GAME ELEMENTS
Included are five Residences adorned with light blue backgrounds, strategically placed alongside their respective families at the start of the game. New cards known as Mysteries, featuring a dark blue effects bar, add further depth to the strategy. Mysteries exclusively interact with Residences, providing players with special effects and Pathos points.
STRATEGIC DEPTH AND FREEDOM
Players have the option to use Mysteries strategically, either as they play or as free discards. These dynamics provide an engaging layer of strategy as players work to amplify their Family Value.
